Design and Build Quality
The RedMagic 12 Pro+ features a distinctive gaming-oriented design that separates it from conventional flagship smartphones. Its premium-looking finish and gaming-inspired styling are designed for users who prefer performance-focused devices.
The phone's large display and dedicated gaming controls make it suitable for extended gaming sessions. However, buyers should consider its size and weight before choosing it as an everyday smartphone.
Display Review
The smartphone features a 6.85-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1216 × 2688 pixels. Published specifications also report a refresh rate of up to 185Hz.
A high refresh rate can provide smoother animations, scrolling, and supported gameplay. The high-resolution panel is also designed to deliver detailed visuals, vibrant colours, and an immersive viewing experience.
For competitive mobile gaming, the fast display and responsive touch controls may offer an advantage in supported games.
Performance and Gaming
The RedMagic 12 Pro+ is built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 platform. It is paired with up to 16GB RAM in the listed standard configurations.
This hardware is designed for demanding mobile games, multitasking, and other performance-intensive applications. Actual frame rates and sustained performance will depend on game optimisation, software updates, temperature, and individual settings.
Its gaming-focused hardware makes the phone particularly interesting for users who prioritise performance over conventional smartphone features.
Cooling System
Gaming phones can generate considerable heat during extended gameplay. The RedMagic 12 Pro+ is reported to include an active cooling fan and an advanced cooling system designed to manage heat.
Effective cooling can help maintain more consistent performance during demanding gaming sessions. Nevertheless, actual temperatures and sustained frame rates require independent testing under real-world conditions.
Camera Performance
The listed specifications include a 50MP main rear camera and an additional ultrawide camera. A 16MP under-display front camera is also reported.
The main camera is designed for everyday photography, including landscapes, portraits, and general snapshots. The ultrawide camera can be useful for capturing wider scenes.
Although the phone prioritises gaming performance, its camera hardware provides versatility for everyday use. However, megapixel counts alone do not determine image quality. Low-light performance, colour accuracy, stabilisation, and video quality should be assessed through camera tests.
Video Recording
Published specifications list video recording capabilities of up to 8K at supported settings. Recording options can vary by camera, resolution, frame rate, and software version.
Users should check the available recording modes on the specific regional version before purchasing the device.
Battery and Charging
One of the key highlights of the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is its reported 8,400mAh battery.
A battery of this capacity could provide extended usage for gaming, video playback, browsing, and everyday tasks. However, actual battery life depends on screen brightness, refresh rate, network conditions, game settings, and background applications.
The reported charging specifications include:
- 120W wired fast charging
- 80W wireless charging
Charging time depends on the charger, temperature, battery condition, and charging settings. Independent testing is needed to establish the actual time required for a full charge.
Software and User Experience
The RedMagic 12 Pro+ is listed with Android 17 and RedMagic OS 12.
The software is designed around gaming and performance features. The overall experience will depend on system optimisation, pre-installed applications, regional software differences, and the availability of future updates.
Before buying an imported unit, users should confirm its language options, Google service compatibility, network support, and software update policy.
Connectivity and Security
The listed features include:
- 5G network support
- NFC
- Wi-Fi connectivity
- Bluetooth
- USB Type-C
- In-display fingerprint sensor
Actual 5G band compatibility and NFC availability may vary by market and device version. Buyers in Bangladesh should verify network-band compatibility and local warranty arrangements before purchasing an imported handset.
